#281 - Intentionally Improvising: Learning to Trust Your Voice with Jamie Clark
Ever feel like you're ready to make an impact on a bigger scale as a Manifestor, but actually putting yourself out there feels scary as feck? Or does the idea of taking an improv class make you want to run for the hills? This episode might be for you.
Maybe you've got something brand new you want to say, create, or initiate, but then your brain starts chiming in with all the reasons it could go wrong. What if you upset someone? What if people don't like it? What if you completely screw it up? In this episode, we're talking about the fears that come up along the Manifestor journey, and what the wonderfully weird (and sometimes wildly uncomfortable) world of Intentional Improv has taught me about navigating them.
We'll get into making mistakes, being seen and heard, letting go of control, and learning to trust yourself even when you have absolutely no idea what's coming next. Because here's the thing: trusting your voice is a skill you can hone, and you don't have to wait until you're fearless to start making the impact you're here to make.
Meet Jamie Clark
Jamie Clark is a 6/2 Emotional Manifestor with ONE channel (the 12-22) and the creator of Intentional Improv, a somatic and mindset practice that helps people get out of their heads, into their bodies, and learn to trust themselves when they have absolutely no idea what's going to happen next.
Once an incredibly shy wallflower who was terrified at the mere thought of getting onstage, Jamie now regularly performs hour-long shows that are completely made up on the spot, with absolutely no script. Though it’s an absolute blast now (key word is NOW- she used to freak out and get sick before shows she was so nervous!), her real impact comes from teaching others to do the same in their own lives, long after they've stepped out of her improv workshops, classrooms, and zoom rooms.
Through Intentional Improv, she helps entrepreneurs, creatives, and leaders get more comfortable with making mistakes, being seen and heard, and trusting whatever comes out of their mouths. And as a Manifestor herself, she's still figuring plenty of this stuff out along the way, too.
